What are Some of the Signs and Symptoms Associated with Pre Menopause?

If you are feeling like you’re getting older, and your periods are becoming less frequent, then you may be starting to enter the early stages of pre menopause. Also known as perimenopause, this first stage of menopause is marked by a variety of signs and symptoms that you will not have experienced at any previous point in your life. While these symptoms may be discomforting at the time, remember that they do not las forever, and most of them will go away within a month to a year of time once your body’s hormone levels settle down to acceptable levels.

Out of all of the signs of pre menopause, the most common is the infrequency of periods. Whereas your period likely came once a month before, it now may only come sporadically, sometimes even once every three months or so. This irregularity will continue until your body has run out of suitable eggs and you enter into menopause.

Two other common symptoms that you will experience with pre menopause are hot flashes and night sweats. These signs of menopause are the two that most women complain about when dealing with menopause and the symptoms leading up to it. They can be very discomforting, but keep in mind that they will subside in due time. Furthermore, there are plenty of treatments available to reduce the discomfort associated with hot flashes and night sweats.

Other symptoms of pre menopause include: mood changes, hair loss, dry skin, vaginal dryness, loss of sexual appetite, anxiety, and difficulty sleeping. Heart palpitations can also be associated with menopause, although this side effect is relatively rare in most women. Be sure to see a doctor if you are experiencing any heart problems, however. In the end, the symptoms of pre menopause may be discomforting, but they will only last for a relatively short period of time.
